What is powder coating, exactly? So glad you asked. Powder coating is a durable surface finish that, unlike most paints, demonstrates a high resistance to impact, moisture, abrasion, and general wear. As far as finishing options go, it’s the GOAT. Like the name suggests, it’s a powdered material that is applied to a surface, then heated in an oven. The baking process heats and melts the powder, causing it to merge into a uniform, even layer. As it cools, it hardens, forming a protective coating over the original surface. Another benefit, this process has less environmental impact than its solvent-based liquid coating counterparts. It’s science, people!
When you’re looking at custom options, you also must factor that into your budget. It should come as no surprise that custom-made does come with an extra price tag. Fortunately, the breakdown of cost is fairly simple and is based on the texture/sheen you select for your color. A glossy finish will be the most affordable, while a flat or satin finish will have you shelling out more for the look you want to achieve. Our Sales Specialist can give you an exact breakdown once you’re ready for a quote.
So if you’ve been searching for that statement pop of color for your kitchen light fixture, or a subtle hue to bring balance to your dining room chandelier, we’ve got you covered. Or rather, we’ve got you coated. (Sorry, had to. 🙃) Let the customization begin!
