DUNN is a small Rhode Island based design and manufacturing firm, born in 2010 from designer Asher Rodriquez-Dunn’s exploration into the intersection between nature and craft.

Our work is a contemporary interpretation of a mid-century modern aesthetic. With sustainable practices and respect for materials, we build each and every piece to the highest standards, ensuring they last for future generations to admire and enjoy.

Our studio culture reflects this path and pursuit.  We continually seek the delicate balance between work and play, and endeavor to always do better.

Our designs and services create new solutions to old problems.  They draw upon the expertise of our entire team, ensuring that our clients experience the most beautiful and most inspiring pieces.

Materials and Process | The unique characteristics of each material we work with and the subtle variations created during the handmade processes fascinates us. As craftspeople, we value both traditional and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, which require knowledge, patience, and love for the wood, metal, and glass we incorporate in our aesthetic. By respecting their strengths and weaknesses, we transform these materials into one-of-a-kind pieces, resulting in timeless heirlooms.

Sustainability and Local Partnerships | We place an emphasis on sustainability, with an overall conscious approach in our processes. Paying homage to our natural resources, the reuse of materials and minimization of waste are at the forefront of our operations. We partner with local artisans, manufacturers, and suppliers in order to responsibly source  our production methods.  We believe this approach to design and manufacturing upholds the integrity of our products, supports our local economy, and cultivates respect for our natural resources.

Customization | Every piece of DUNN lighting is assembled upon order in our Rhode Island studio, allowing us to customize our designs to your particular needs. We go above and beyond to make this process easy. We work with you to explore the numerous alterations available and find the perfect balance of aesthetics, function, and structural integrity that befits your unique goals. We express our expert knowledge of design and construction using time-honored techniques to maximize the beauty, durability, and structural integrity of every piece.
